Quest For Happiness: Part Three

Finally, the much awaited wedding day arrived. Joy had contracted Diko photography, as a wedding present for the couples, to tell their wedding story and some of the team members had setup early that morning to record the groom while he prepared for his big day. She learnt the other team was at the residence of the bride, Susan, and capturing her moment too. The whole house was bubbling with excitement, with everyone moving here and there, trying to make final preparations.

The wedding mass was to hold by 10am at Church of Assumption, Falomo, so by quarter past nine, the groom and his party set out. The church was beautifully decorated and the mass was divine. Seeing all the family gathered in their uniform attire and with so much joy and gladness, she felt a pang of regret that she had not had such an elaborate occasion during her wedding.
Finally, after the mass, pictures were taken and they headed en masse to the reception venue. During the reception, she met different people, some of her shared friends with Joy and many she was meeting for the first time. One of them was named Ebuka and he was a friend of John, the groom. He was a handsome man, between thirty to thirty-five years of age. He was light-skinned, well-built and caught her attention because of the gentle way he spoke and paid attention to everything she said. This made her feel comfortable with him and for most of the reception, he stayed at her table and they chatted like old friends.
When the time came for her to leave, they exchanged numbers, which is something she hardly did with people she just met and he promised to get in touch with her. She felt girly all of a sudden, like she was a teenager and had just met a handsome young man who showed interest in her, but she put this feeling aside as silly and decided to ignore it.
This is where her hidden emotions began unveiling...
