Everyone vies for the perfect picture. We all stop at one beautiful scenery or the other, stop our work, stop our discussion, just to take a quick selfie. What most of us fail to take cognizance of, is the safety of our location.

This occurred at Foshan, a city in South China’s Guangdong Province. She was reported to have been attracted to a rose bush close to the rail track,
and several trains had passed by her, all blaring their horns, until finally, she moved too close to the track and was hit by one. Reports also went that she was cautioned by bystanders to keep a safe distance, which she ignored.
On arriving, paramedics pronounced the girl dead on the scene. This is just one of the recent selfie caused incidents, as there have been several others.

A more recent occurrence, is that of two friends, aged 12 and 17 years, who were reported to have fallen to their death while on a family trip at an isolated beach in Mexico. The girls, Arandari and Marianas, fell while trying to take a selfie on dangerous rocks at the beach.
One of the girls is said to have fallen and drowned in the ocean, while the other died from a severe head injury and was found trapped between rocks. It is assumed that one of the girls must have slipped and fallen and the other, while trying to save her, also fell in.

All these victims found themselves in this unfortunate position due to one level of carelessness or the other. Therefore, when you go on that family trip, excursion or even stay at home, please be conscious of your location and the elements around you while trying to get the perfect shot.
