Quest For Happiness: Part Nine

Anne came back to Nigeria two month after her first business trip, as the setup for the catering establishment was complete. She now had to oversee the start of business and make sure it went as smooth as possible. So far, things had been going well, Joy had introduced her to some of her
friends and she already had some event bookings.
Since things were looking fine in the business front, she decided to honour Ebuka's invitation to visit his home. Joy had already figured out what was going on between them and thou she did not say anything about the relationship, Anne still felt she didn't fully agree with it.
Anne took her time preparing for her visit to his place and even applied more makeup than usual. On arriving at his apartment in Surulere, she liked the modern setting of the place. He informed her that he shared the apartment with his friend, thou he paid the larger percentage of the rent as he had the masters room. They chatted, watched a movie and he had even cooked for her, a gesture which really touched her.
While they were watching the movie, he excused himself and on returning, he stood in front of the TV, obstructing her view. Anne looked at him curiously, confused on why he was blocking her view. As thou to reply her unspoken question, Ebuka dropped slowly to one of his knees with a goofy smile on his face and extended his hand which held an open case with a beautiful ring in it, to her and asked her the question she thought she would never hear again, "Mary-Anne, would you be my wife?"
