Teenager Imprisoned For Exam Malpractice After TV Interview

In India, a 17-year-old girl, Ruby Rai from Bihar, was arrested for examination malpractice after bragging on television about getting top grades on her exam. Ruby has been charged as an adult when it was discovered that she cheated on her college exam.
Trouble started when she was interviewed by a television station for finishing on top of her class for a very difficult exam on Political science.
During the interview, she was unable to answer questions thrown at her by the reporter and when asked what the classes were on, she said that some of the classes teach on how to cook. She also referred to the class as "Pordigal science"  instead of political science. After watching the interview, the Bihar School Examination Board became suspicious and asked her retake the exam and on failing, she was arrested.
The move by authorities to charge her as an adult has met with a lot of opposition as many are saying she should be sent to a juvenile detention center because of her age. Others are however demanding that she should be released and her parents should be charged as they were allegedly the ones who conspired with officials from her private college to allow her pass with top grades even thou she was dull.
This is a case Nigerians and basically the whole can relate with, as some times, parents tend to do things that are not right, thinking they are helping their children and not know they are causing more harm than good.
